Contact Lenses

Overview

Contact lenses can be a good choice for people who want to have the fullest vision possible. Many people complain that eyeglasses do not give them sufficient peripheral vision, which contact lenses can provide. Contact lens wearers typically should be 12 or older, although some children can handle contact lens responsibilities at a younger age. Contact lenses can correct most types of vision issues, including nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism.

Polaris Eye & Laser offers many types of contact lenses including soft contact lenses, rigid gas permeable contact lenses, specialized medically necessary contact lenses such as scleral contact lenses for irregular corneal surface, and Ortho-K lenses such as Paragon CRT lenses for myopia (nearsightedness) control in children.  As a medical device that touches the surface of the eye, contact lenses can certainly impact the health of the eye, and proper assessment and care must be taken to maintain successful contact lens wear.
